Computing

Computing

Here at Barrow Hall Primary School we are all very excited about the new Computing curriculum and the possibilities that it brings with it. From E-Safety to multimedia, technology in our lives, and programming, there is a lot to learn, a lot of new vocabulary to use and a lot of technology to get to grips with.

Computing is taught both cross curricular (Topic, Literacy and Maths in particular) and as discrete Computing lessons. Our learning is structured by a series of ‘I can’ statements that link clearly and closely to the New Computing Curriculum, and the Age Related Expectations that each year group are working towards. It is important to note that each year group may work towards several age brackets to account for differentiation and pace of learning.

Below are the ‘I Can’ statements for each age bracket:

Reception ‘I can’ statements

Year 1 ‘I can’ statements

Year 2 ‘I can’ statements

Year 3 ‘I can’ statements

Year 4 ‘I can’ statements

Year 5 ‘I can’ statements

Year 6 ‘I can’ statements
