Prospective Parents
Dear Prospective Parent
Thank you for your interest in a place in Reception at our school in September 2021. Due to the current safety measures in place to manage the risk of Coronavirus infection, we will, unfortunately, be unable to hold our annual ‘Open Evening for Prospective Parents’. However, we realise that making a choice of school is a huge decision for parents and want to give you as much information as possible about Barrow Hall to inform your choice. Therefore, as in previous years, we are offering parents the opportunity to individually visit Barrow Hall during the school day. There will be an opportunity to meet with the Headteacher and to walk around school. Unfortunately, visitors will not be able to enter any classrooms, but the layout of the school means that it is easily possible to observe our children from doorways without physically entering their classrooms. There will, of course, be additional measures in place to protect our pupils, staff and visitors which school will insist are followed. These include the following:
- Visits are by appointment only. Appointments are available on Monday afternoons between 1-4pm and Thursday mornings between 930am-1230pm throughout October, November, December and January. We will allocate one hour for each appointment.
- No more than two people may attend. If your child attends with you, they will ‘count’ as one of the two people. We would prefer young children not to visit unless essential (e.g. child care cannot be arranged) as maintaining social distance is often more difficult
- Face coverings must be worn at all times whilst in school
- Visitors will be required to maintain social distance from staff and pupils at all times. This includes any children who visit.
- Visitors are required to ‘sign in’ at the school office, including leaving contact telephone numbers
- Visitors will be required to sanitise hands at entrance and exit
We apologise for the range of measures we are having to insist upon for these visits, but we need to balance the requirements of prospective parents to inform their choice of school with the safety of all involved. Although the visits will not be quite the same as in previous years, we do still feel that they will be a valuable opportunity for prospective parents. Please call Mrs Sharkey, Mrs Brindle or Mrs Bland on 01925 717633 to make appointments.
We look forward to meeting you.
Yours sincerely
Mr JM Littler
Headteacher
