Headteacher's Message
Message from Mr John Littler, Headteacher
Welcome to the Barrow Hall Community Primary School website and thank you for your interest in our school.
I took over as Headteacher in January 2013 and it is a privilege to have become part of the local community and to be able to work with the wonderful children who come to our school.
The school’s longstanding motto is for all of our children ‘To feel secure, be valued and to learn’ and this is at the heart of everything we do at Barrow Hall. In Autumn 2023, through discussions with children, teachers, support staff and governors, we revised our school values. We promote the four core values of Respect, Kindness, Positive Attitudes and Ambition in all we do at Barrow Hall. We have identified ten key behaviour rules which our children are taught when they start at Barrow Hall and are reinforced at all times. When put together, all of these form 'The Barrow Hall Way'. This is displayed and reinforced throughout our school.
Whilst focusing on the core skills of Reading, Writing and Maths, we ensure that ensure that Barrow Hall is a safe and happy place to be and provides a wide range of opportunities for all of our children to achieve their potential. We are particularly proud of the positive relationships that exist between all of the members of our community.
The website aims to give you an insight into life at Barrow Hall and our core values. However, I would strongly encourage a visit to the school (including a guided tour from some of our children) to see it in action. Should you wish to visit or discuss any aspect of education at our school , please contact the school office to make an appointment.
I look forward to meeting you.
Yours sincerely
Mr John Littler
